Historic City News has learned that a St. Johns County man and woman were arrested Tuesday afternoon when Special Investigations Unit Detectives served a search warrant at their residence — two other men who fled the scene remain fugitives at this time.
Members of the Sheriff’s Office SWAT team served the warrant at 6494 Santina Way following numerous complaints that the occupants were operating a methamphetamine lab.
Detectives located inside the residence and seized several precursor chemicals used in the production of Methamphetamine.
The two people located inside the residence and arrested were 32 year-old Michael Edward Green and 20 year-old Christine Ann Stevens, both of St. Augustine.
The pair remains in custody; charged with the manufacture and possession of methamphetamine, maintaining a drug dwelling and possession of drug paraphernalia.
Green’s bond totals $20,000 and Stevens’ bond totals $6,000.
Deputies and detectives arrived to serve the search warrant shortly after 3:00 p.m. yesterday and, as they arrived, they observed two men flee out of the back door. Detectives believe that they may know the identities of the fugitives and additional charges are pending as the investigation continues.
