Keepers of the Coast, a local non-profit organization dedicated to promoting coastal stewardship and conservation, reported to Historic City News that they are recruiting volunteers for the 1st annual “Morning After” Beach Clean-Up.
This community-wide effort will be held the morning of Sunday, July 5th, from 8:00 am until noon at eight different beach access points throughout St. Johns County:
· Micklers Beachfront Park Ponte Vedra
· Gate Gas Station (South Ponte Vedra)
· Porpoise Point Vilano Beach
· Vilano Beach Ramp
· St. Augustine Beach Pier
· Butler Beachfront Park East
· Crescent Beachfront Park
· Fort Matanzas Beach Ramp
No pre-registration is required and volunteers may show up at any of the eight locations. Everyone is welcome and encouraged to participate.
All participants will be given a bag for trash, a bag for recycling, a bag for cigarette butts and a raffle ticket for a drawing to win a $100 clothing gift certificate from Blue Sky Surf Shop.
Prizes will be awarded to the person who collects the most cigarette butts at each location.
