Historic City News readers are invited to celebrate our unique culture and history during the Lincolnville Street Fair.
This free community event will take place on Martin Luther King Avenue; between St. Francis and De Haven Streets in St Augustine on Saturday, May 21, 2011 from 10:00 a.m. – 7:00 p.m.
You will be entertained with live local music all day.
Enjoy great food, arts and crafts and a children’s play area.
Goals for this annual, one-day, family oriented event are:
-To attract persons from all areas of the community to the fair and encourage them to learn more about the neighborhood’s history and culture through music, crafts, agency representatives and print materials.
-To encourage Lincolnville merchants and organizations to participate and showcase themselves on the day of the fair.
-To offer artists rooted in the community an opportunity to showcase their artistic talents, to build an audience and to offer community organizations the opportunity to provide information about their programs and services.
-To foster and strengthen relationships between the community at large and the neighborhood in order to celebrate our diversity and promote a strong sense of community among diverse people.
Crafters, Artists, and Community Organizations who embrace the mission of the Lincolnville Street fair are welcome to participate in this annual event.

Proceeds from the event will benefit the Cyprian Center for Expressive Arts, St. Cyprian’s Episcopal Church, Basilica Cathedral St. Benedict the Moor Church, St. Joseph Ministries Art House of Dreams, St. Paul’s A.M.E. Church and St. Paul’s School of Excellence. The Lincolnville Street Fair promotes a strong sense of community among the diverse people who are a part of the neighborhood and greater community, and increases awareness of the attractiveness and viability of the Lincolnville neighborhood and its businesses in the community.
