Jay Humphreys, Communications Director with the St. Augustine, Ponte Vedra & The Beaches Visitors & Convention Bureau reported to Historic City News that the St. Johns County Tourist Development Council’s Category II Arts/Grants Funding panel will hold a special meeting.
The meeting is scheduled to be held at 9 a.m., Thursday, September 3 in the St. George Room of the County Administration Building located at 500 San Sebastian View in St. Augustine.
The purpose of the meeting is to review previously submitted applications for Category II funding to support special events in the county.
More than 30 non-profit organizations in St. Johns County have applied for a total of $696,870 from tourist development tax revenues to fund 48 cultural and heritage events to be held between October 1, 2009 and September 30, 2010.
It is anticipated that one or more members of the St. Johns County Tourist Development Council may be in attendance. The meeting is open to the public.
