Theater of the Mind: Storytelling

“Untold stories from St. Augustine’s civil war era”

Accurately researched stories represent the adventure, challenge, and romance of St. Augustine’s native-born Confederate States Army General Edmund Kirby-Smith and his bride Cassie Selden; Dr. Esther Hill Hawks, a Union Army physician; Francis Kirby-Smith, the General’s mother and his elder sister Francis Kirby-Smith Webster; and T. Buckingham Smith, Northern sympathizer, attorney and benefactor who made his home in St. Augustine for many years.

The program, originally developed under the auspices of the Florida Humanities Council and the St. Augustine Historical Society, is presented by members of Tale Tellers of St. Augustine.
