Smartest Card Contest
September 1-28 – If you love your St. Johns County Public Library System you’re invited to stop by the Main Library and let us know what your library means to you and take a picture with our giant library card. These testimonials will be part of a collage on display in the library during National Library Card Sign-Up Month. You will also be entered in a raffle for a chance to win gifts.

Signing Time: “American Sign Language”
Tuesday, September 13 @ 10:15 am – Signing Time Academy is a fun way for you and your child to learn American Sign Language (ASL) as you play, sing, and sign along with your family. As seen on Nick Jr., Signing Time’s multi-award winning original music brings ASL to life in a fun way that is sure to get your little ones a movin’ and a groovin’! This program is FREE and ALL ages are welcome!
What’s all the BUZZ about? “MOSQUITOES”
Tuesday, September 13 @ 6 pm – There are over 3,000 different species of mosquitoes found in the world! Forty-three species have been found in St. Johns County. About 10 of these species are most common and are vicious biters of man and animals. But there is no need to hide inside and be afraid of those mosquitoes! Join us for this FREE workshop! Presented by the Anastasia Mosquito Control District.

Adult Book Club: “The Last Dickens”
Saturday, September 17 @ 10:30 am – A riveting novel that explores the circumstances surrounding Charles Dickens’s unfinished work, The Mystery of Edwin Drood. Publisher James Osgood awaits the final installments of Drood after hearing of Dickens’s death. Unfortunately, Osgood’s messenger is killed before he can deliver the manuscript to the publishing house, and the manuscript disappears. Enjoy sharing what you thought of the book, along with coffee and refreshments!
Yoga Experience
Monday, September 19 @ 10:30 am – At this FREE adult yoga class, we’ll explore practical, easy ways to take care of the body, reduce stress & relax and improve breathing & energy levels. First-timers are always welcome. Come and meet nice new people or bring a friend!
J.A.A.M. (Japanese Anime at Main)
Monday, September 19 @ 5 pm – Tweens, teens, and young twenty-somethings are invited to the monthly meeting of our new anime club, where you can meet others with similar interests. We’ll be viewing assorted Anime & enjoying Japanese candy. Feel free to wear a costume and J.A.A.M. with us!
Internet Safety Class
Tuesday, September 20 @ 10 am – Empowerment is key! Find out if your information is safe on the Internet. What is proper online etiquette? What can you do about spam in your email and pop-up ads while you are online? Bedtime Stories
Tuesday, September 20 @ 6 pm – Make reading time a family affair! Children are invited to wear pajamas and bring a blanket or favorite cuddly toy for stories, songs, and activities during this fun evening story time.

Peace Tees & Tales
Wednesday, September 21 @ 2 pm – Join us for a celebration of International Peace Day. Hear beautiful stories of peace and a sing-along session featuring a live banjo, and craft eco-friendly stained glass sun catchers. Be sure to bring along a t-shirt or two so you can tie-dye for Peace Day!

Thursday, September 29 @ 3:30 pm – Do you love free books and playing Bingo? Come out, make new friends, and win books by playing Bingo! Everyone is guaranteed to go home with at least one free book. Book prizes are donated by the Friends of the Library! Everyone is welcome and it’s FREE!
