Flagler sheriff holds Citizens Academy
The Flagler County Sheriff’s Office has announced to Historic City News that a new Citizens Academy class will begin October 11th and Flagler County residents are urged to take advantage of the opportunity to get an inside look at the Sheriff’s operations.
The academy will introduce participants to each of the divisions within the Flagler County Sheriff’s Office.
Presentations will be made by the Narcotics Enforcement Team, the Criminal Investigaton Divison, the Victim Advocates, the Citizens Observer Patrol and the Accreditation team. Tours will be conducted of the Sheriff’s Communications Center, the Mobile Command Center and the Flagler County Inmate Facility. Demonstrations will be presented by the Motorcycle Unit and the K-9 units.
Each participant will also be given the opportunity to ride along with a road deputy as they patrol the roadways.
The academy is free and seating is limited, so applications should be filled out and returned as soon as possible.
The academy will meet each Tuesday and Thursday through November 17th from 6:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. at the Sheriff’s Operations Center in Bunnell.
