Scott Abrams, Director of the Shipwreck Theatre Company and Conservatory reported to Historic City News that he is canceling the previously announced Pirate Gala scheduled November 5, 2011.
The company has secured the former Riverside Fish Camp location at 200 Vilano Road and has been in the process of remodeling since it made its first casting call on September 18th.
According to the announcement, the cancellation is “as the result of seemingly endless, unforeseen delays in permitting and construction”.
Likewise, Abrams said that the opening of their first production, The Complete Works of William Shakespeare (abridged), originally announced to run from November 10th through December 11th, has been postponed.
“Their hope is to get back on schedule and open their first production in a matter of weeks,” their publicist said. “Revised dates will be released soon.”
