St. Johns County Commissioner for District 1, Cyndi Stevenson, has invited Historic City News readers to the 3rd Annual Veteran’s Sunset Celebration on November 10th.
The Ceremony begins at 6:00 p.m. and features the Bartram Trail Air Force ROTC Color Guard, the National Anthem, sung by Faith Miller, patriotic music performed by the Liberty Pines Chorus and Switzerland Point Middle School Jazz Band and will close with taps, played at the flagpole.
A documentary film featuring local veterans, “Prisoners of War: Stolen Freedom” will be presented by Florida Veterans Programs & Projects, Inc.
“Come out from 5:30 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. to Veterans Park, located at 1332 Veterans Parkway in St. Johns,” Stevenson said. “There will be something for everyone in the family.”
Rotary Clubs of Bartram and St. Johns will prepare hamburgers and hot dogs; which will be available following the ceremony.
Stevenson told reporters that this year’s event includes patriotic music performed by area schools, veteran documentary films, a military display and a bounce house.
“Thank you to Winn-Dixie, Rotary and community donors for sponsoring this event,” Stevenson said.
