CVS could lose sales of controlled medications
This afternoon at 3:00 pm, Historic City News reporters will be tuned in when Special Agent in Charge, Mark R Trouville, outlines the most recent action by the Drug Enforcement Administration that includes punitive measures that will affect one pharmaceutical wholesale distributor and one major retailer.
According to Public Information Officer David Melenkevitz in the Orlando District Office, the law enforcement agency is taking administrative action against Cardinal Health and CVS Pharmacy in its efforts to thwart the diversion of licit pharmaceutical controlled substances.
Trouville, who is assigned to the Drug Enforcement Administration Miami Field Division, says that wholesalers and retailers can lose the right to sell controlled substance medications to the public — if they are involved in the illegal diversion of otherwise legal prescription medications.
The press conference is being held later today, Monday, February 6th at 3:00 p.m. at the DEA Orlando District Office located at 300 International Parkway in Heathrow.
