Celebrating Archaeology Month in Florida

Posted on 03/14/201203/15/2012 By Historic City News

Northeast Region Outreach Coordinator Amber Grafft-Weiss invited Historic City News readers to celebrate archaeology month by participating in this week’s upcoming events around Northeast Florida — including the St Augustine Lighthouse Festival and Tolomato Cemetery Tours this Saturday.

Amber earned her Bachelor of Arts in Anthropology and a Bachelor of Arts in English from the University of North Florida in 2004. After graduating, she spent three years working in the Archaeology Division of the City of St Augustine; managing records and assisting in site excavation and artifact analysis.

Her research interests include the African-American Diaspora, Colonial St Augustine, and Archaeology Education. She currently sits on the board for the St Augustine Archaeological Association. Amber can be reached by calling (904) 819-6498.
