Historic City News has learned that family members of the victim in this morning’s stabbing inside a residence on Duval Street in St Augustine, have been contacted about the death of a supervisory employee of the St Johns County Clerk of Court.
Stephanie Theresa Singleton-Gilliam, 44 years of age, who, according to available public records, resided at 241 Duval Street in St Augustine, was a supervisor in the family law division and has been confirmed dead.
“We have notified the next of kin in this case,” Corporal Catherine Payne told reporters; saying the family members reached, so far, are asking for privacy while they grieve the loss of their loved one.
Payne said that Clerk of Court, Cheryl Strickland, had confirmed the victim’s position in her office.
Historic City News has also learned that another person, a black male at the same address, was transported to Flagler Hospital for medical treatment; however, officials are not confirming any relationship between the two persons at this time.
Payne told Historic City News that the injured subject has been released from the hospital and is with Robbery-Homicide detectives who are trying to determine what occurred at the scene.
There will be more details released as the investigation continues.
