Firefighters from St. Johns County Fire Rescue were called to a home on Almansa Road in St. Augustine Shores yesterday afternoon and local news photographer Christopher Kimball was on the scene.
A neighbor reported seeing smoke coming from the back of the 1300 square foot home.
Firefighters made entry to the 35 year-old frame structure and knocked down the flames very quickly.
A life was saved in yesterday’s inferno. When emergency personnel first went into the smoke-filled home, they were able to rescue “Smoochie” — the resident’s dappled dachshund.
