St. Augustine local news reporters were notified by Public Information Coordinator Cathy DuPont that on Monday, March 15th, the city will continue removing all unused or unattended mooring balls in Matanzas Bay.
The Department of Public Affairs says that, where possible, all associated ground tackle will be removed from the waterways as well.
To avoid disposal by the city, owners of mooring balls and tackle in the affected areas should remove all such material immediately.
Removed mooring balls will be temporarily stored at the Municipal Marina, 111 Avenida Menendez, and will be disposed of after 90 days if not claimed by the owner.
The removal schedule is as follows:
• March 15-21 Areas north and south of Bridge of Lions
• March 22-28 Hospital Creek area
