The local St. Augustine news desk has learned that Friday morning, Police Officer Jessica Pedonti responded to a business on SR-312 to investigate the theft of construction materials.
The General Manager of All American Air, located near the intersection of Mizell Road and SR-312, reported to police that sometime after the business closed, about 5:00 p.m. Thursday evening, and the time the business re-opened, Friday morning at about 8:10 a.m., thieves burglarized a parked trailer located in the parking lot.
Stolen from the trailer was scrap copper material used by the air conditioning installation and repair company. Although it was not possible to say the exact amount of the loss, the value of the copper was estimated to be somewhere between $5,000 and $10,000.
Community Affairs Officer Barbara Clifford of the St. Augustine Police Department reports that evidence was obtained from the scene and the investigation is ongoing.
