Historic City News learned from Raymond F. Tyner, Planning Manager for the City of Palm Coast, that plans are moving forward for the combination Olive Garden and Red Lobster restaurants to be built in Palm Coast.
For its size, Palm Coast is under-served by restaurants and it will be interesting to watch the success of the two-in-one concept where the two Darden themed restaurants will share a common kitchen and bar while maintaining separate dining rooms.
The project manager for Darden said she sent the building plans and permit application via FedEx and the City of Palm coast is expecting to receive them today.
The Darden family of restaurants features some of the most recognizable and successful brands in full-service dining: Red Lobster, Olive Garden, LongHorn Steakhouse, The Capital Grille, Bahama Breeze and Seasons 52.
Darden says, “The culinary inspirations for these two brands come from the fishing villages of Maine and the family tables of Italy – icons that reflect the rich diversity of those who visit our restaurants.”
The Olive Garden and Red Lobster restaurants in Palm Coast are waiting for final signatures from all the major anchors in order to close on the property. According to our sources, Darden has stated their goal to be open by the November through December holidays.
Since opening its first Red Lobster restaurant in Lakeland in 1968, Darden has grown to become the world’s largest full-service restaurant company. Through subsidiaries, Darden owns and operates 1,800 restaurants, employs approximately 180,000 people and serves more than 400 million meals a year.
