Ar•ti•facts – the fragmented, discarded clues of past civilizations; remnants of tools, machines and perhaps even memories. Five accomplished artists working in a variety of mediums have joined together to reveal their unique visions of what happens when the past and present collide. Jim Christley unveils his pen and ink drawings of shipwrecks done in the manner of archaeological drawings including some wreck sites being worked on by the Lighthouse Archaeological and Marine Program (LAMPS) locally. Painter and photographer, Scott Waters will use aircraft parts and hulks from the Palm, Coast area as subjects. Jim Rivers constructs beautiful one-of-a-kind furniture from locally harvested fallen trees. Deane Kellogg and Barbara J. Cornett create whimsical, thought-provoking assemblages from found objects. The exhibition will run through the month of May. For additional information call 904/829-0078
