ST. AUGUSTINE GARRISON AT FORT MOSE
Experience living history demonstrations conducted by authentic colonial Spanish re-enactors. The demonstrations begin at 11 a.m. at Fort Mose located at 15 Fort Mose Trail in St. Augustine. LOW TIDE BIKE RIDE AT ANASTASIA STATE PARK
A bike tour led by a park ranger begins at 11:30 a.m. at Island Joe’s pavilion located inside the park. This 3 1/2 mile low tide bike ride and bird watch includes an ecology talk at the point of Conch Island. Riders should be prepared for weather conditions on the beach. Bring your own bike or rentals will be available from Island Joes. Admission to the park is $8 per vehicle, up to 8 people, $4 for single occupant admission, and $2 for pedestrians and bicyclists. GTM GUIDED BEACH WALK
Join GTM Research Reserve Volunteer Rick Edwards for this “Beaches 101” experience featuring topics such as the sand, the importance of the dunes, and the animals that call the beach their home. The walk is from 9 to 11 a.m. and reservations are required. The tour starts at the Guana South Beach parking lot approximately two miles north of the Environmental Education Center which is located at 505 Guana River Road, Ponte Vedra Beach. NATIONAL MARITIME DAY AT THE ST. AUGUSTINE LIGHTHOUSE
Celebrate National Maritime Day at the St. Augustine Lighthouse with a musical program entitled Let the Waves Roll High! Explore the history of the historic light station and at 3 p.m. set sail to a shanty hear bold tales and foc’sle tunes suitable for the entire family while learning about life aboard a tall ship during days gone by. Admission is $9 adults, $7 children 12 and under and $7.50 for seniors. Admission is always half-price for St. Johns County residents with proof of address. BIRD WALK AT ANASTASIA STATE PARK
Join state park volunteers for a fun, informative walk to meet the birds that live in the park. The walk is from 8:30 to 10:30 a.m. Admission to the park is $8 per vehicle, up to 8 people, $4 for single occupant admission, and $2 for pedestrians and bicyclists. NOTE: St. Johns County residents with a valid ID are always admitted free of charge to Government House Museum, the Lightner Museum, the Colonial Spanish Quarter Museum, the Fountain of Youth (special events excluded), the Ximenez-Fatio House, the Oldest Wooden Schoolhouse, and the Spanish Military Hospital Museum. The daily tours and wine tastings at the San Sebastian Winery are free to everyone. Also, admission is free to everyone at the Authentic Old Drug Store, Fort Matanzas National Monument, St. Photios Chapel, the Pena-Peck House and the Father Miguel O’Reilly Museum (donations are welcomed).
