It is with great sadness that St. Johns County Fire Rescue spokesman Jeremy Robshaw announced to Historic City News that Captain Kenneth Joseph Krulish Jr passed away, unexpectedly, early Tuesday afternoon, January 22.
“We are all deeply saddened by this unexpected and untimely loss,” Robshaw told reporters. “We have expressed to his wife Amy and the immediate family the sorrow and grief of the entire Department.”
Visitation will be held from 6:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. Friday, January 25, at Anchor Faith Church; located inside the Ponce Mall at 2121 US-1 South.
Funeral services will be held Saturday, January 26 at Anchor Faith Church starting at 11:00 a.m. with graveside services to follow at St Augustine Memorial Park located at 2600 Old Moultrie Road in St Augustine.
“If you have ever spoken at length with Kenny then you know that he dreamed of being a fireman since he was a small child,” Fire Chief Carl Shank said. “Looking back at his career it is clear to see that he lived that dream and excelled as a fire officer.”
Captain Krulish began his Fire Rescue career in 1988 working on an ambulance for St Johns County Emergency Medical Services. Since that time, he progressed through the ranks; achieving the rank of Captain in the North-Central District at Station 15.
Chief Shank said that Captain Krulish has always been an active and well respected member of the Department; serving in many roles — both Administrative and Operations.
Funeral arrangements are being facilitated by St Johns Family Funeral Home and Crematory.
