Locally owned and operated Phillips Broadcasting of St Augustine announced to Historic City News today that Bozard Ford Lincoln will sponsor a new radio show, “High School Headlines” on Newstalk AM 1240 WFOY airing live every Saturday at 1:00 p.m., streamed on 1240news.com, and rebroadcast from 1:30 p.m. – 2:00 p.m.
The 30-minute radio show features news, events, sports, extra-curricular activities and interviews relating to each of the six high schools in St Johns County. The segments are written and produced by high school students who obtain hands on experience in broadcasting.
“We’re proud to sponsor High School Headlines,” said Jeff King of Bozard Ford Lincoln. “Giving students an opportunity to work in radio and broadcast news and information about their schools, from their perspectives, reflects our commitment to education in St. Johns County.”
Station owner Kris Phillips said, “As the community newstalk station for St Johns County, we’re very pleased to add High School Headlines to our Saturday line-up.”
Dr. Joe Joyner, Superintendent of Schools for St Johns County added, “We appreciate the support Bozard Ford Lincoln has consistently provided to our schools and our students.”
