Thespian play writer and local St. Augustine actor James Bullock told Historic City News reporters that he will be presenting a monologue on General George Biassou as part of an upcoming event recognizing Biassou, Toussaint Louverture and King Henry Christophe.
Also making presentations will be Professor Matt Clavin, an Associate Professor of History at the University of West Florida in Pensacola, Haitian American Historical Society Historians Professor Claude Charles and Professor Jean Claude Exulien.
The Haitian American Historical Society conference is being held June 19th from 6:00 p.m.until 9:00 p.m. at the Museum of Contemporary Art in North Miami.
Bullock’s monologue is an excerpt from his play; Freedom Road.
Derek Hankerson from St. Augustine will accompany Bullock and says that he has been asked to serve as Master of Ceremonies. He will introduce Bullock to the conference attendees.
