Counterfeit bills passed at two St Augustine businesses

Public Information Officer Mark Samson reported to Historic City News that the St. Augustine Police Department was called to a business on St George Street Saturday night, April 20th, to investigate a suspicious currency transaction.

Investigators arrived at Pizza Time, located at 124 St George Street at 6:20 p.m. and received a report that an unidentified, heavy set, white female, with pink hair and a piercing in her right cheek, had made a purchase and paid with what they believed to be a counterfeit $50 bill.

The customer had already left the restaurant by the time police arrived; however, video surveillance video images were captured and released to Historic City News today.

Later the same night, at 8:43 p.m., a second incident was reported to police by ABC Liquor located at 160 King Street. According to the manager on duty, a woman matching the same general description and appearance initiated a purchase and paid with a suspicious $50 bill that was later determined to be counterfeit.

Video surveillance images collected at ABC Liquors confirm that the same woman was involved in both transactions.
