Tomorrow, May 21st, Historic City News learned that patriots across the country will be hitting the streets to protest the recent revelation that the Internal Revenue Service was used to harass and abuse US citizens who are Tea Party members and members of other conservative Patriot groups.
Locally, the Regional Office of the Internal Revenue Service is located in the Modis Building at 1 Independent Drive in downtown Jacksonville; along the north bank of the St Johns River.
Vowing that abuse of government power against private citizens will not be tolerated, local Tea Party groups informed Historic City News reporters that they intend to participate in a protest rally at the Jacksonville Regional Office at noon tomorrow.
“Our rights to participate in the political process and hold our government accountable for its abusive actions are protected by the First Amendment of the United States Constitution,” Lance Thate, Chairman of the Saint Augustine Tea Party told Historic City News. “Now it is time to let them know that our freedom of speech will not be infringed.”
Tea Party patriots will be holding similar “Rein in the IRS” rallies and demonstrations in front of IRS office buildings across the country at 12:00 p.m. noon, local time.
