The St. Johns County Public Library System is teaming up with local organizations to offer a FREE Teen Financial Literacy Series according to information received by Historic City News earlier this week.
Seminars will be held at the Bartram Trail Branch Library on Monday and Tuesday, August 11 and 12, from 10:00 am to 12:30 pm each day.
The classes will be taught by the Junior Achievement of Florida’s First Coast, Inc., and the St. Johns Chapter of the Florida Institute of Certified Public Accountants.
Subjects will include budgeting, personal investment, credit options and pitfalls, identity theft and other related topics. The Teen Financial Literacy Series is ideal for recent high school graduates, those starting a first job, students heading off to college or any teen who wants to learn about managing money.
Carla Day, Young Adult Librarian at the Bartram Trail Branch Library, is excited about this new program. “The teenage years are when financial habits really develop, and we are thrilled to offer this program to help young adults learn how to wisely manage their money,†she said.
Light breakfast and coffee will be served, sponsored by the Bartram Trail Friends of the Library.
Class size is limited, so call (904) 827-6960 to register. Questions may be directed to Carla Day at the same number.
The Bartram Trail Branch Library is located at 60 Davis Pond Boulevard in Fruit Cove.
