Historic City News was informed today that Donna DeLorenzo and Barry Sand, co-advisors of Flagler Enactus, were named “Sam M. Walton Free Enterprise Fellows of the Year” at the 2013 Enactus USA National Exposition on May 23rd in Kansas City, Missouri, where Flagler College won their third national championship.
DeLorenzo is the Executive Director of College Relations at Flagler, a Sam Walton Free Enterprise Fellow, and the co-advisor for the Flagler College Enactus national championship team.
“Barry and I are honored and humbled that our Enactus students nominated us for this prestigious award,” said DeLorenzo. “This is just another indication of how impressive a group of students they are, and we are grateful for their support.”
As the Executive Director of College Relations, DeLorenzo oversees Public Relations, Marketing Communications, WFCF Flagler College Radio, College Relations, Flagler’s Legacy – the College’s retail enterprise, and Enactus.
Sand is a retired professional in residence at Flagler College teaching TV Scriptwriting and TV Production and is also a former producer of “Late Night with David Letterman.” In his 30 years of broadcasting, Sand has written and produced many Emmy Award winning shows including “Candid Camera,” “David Frost,” “Mike Douglas” and “SCTV.”
“Sam M. Walton Free Enterprise Fellows of the Year” each receive a plaque and a fully paid trip to the Enactus World Cup in Cancun, Mexico, where Flagler College will compete in September.
