Environmental Compliance Manager Tony Cubbedge alerted Historic City News readers in Ponte Vedra Beach that the St Johns County Utility Department continues emergency repairs this morning to an overnight water main break that occurred in the area.
A Precautionary Boil Water Notice remains in effect — all water used for drinking, cooking, making ice, brushing teeth or washing dishes should be boiled first. A rolling boil of one minute is sufficient.
“Crews are on-site repairing the lines at this time,” Cubbedge told reporters. “Signs are posted at the entrance of the subdivisions affected by the boil water notice. Retraction signs will also be posted once the notice is rescinded.”
The Boil Water Notice will remain in effect until lab tests show that the water is safe to drink and a retraction notice is posted, which is typically a minimum of two days.
