Earlier today, Historic City News learned that a beachgoer discovered a stranded baby sea turtle on St Augustine Beach near the St Johns County pier.
St Johns County Beach Services has placed turtle rescue boxes at fire stations along the coastline. The sea turtle was dropped off at Station 7 on A1A Beach Boulevard at St Augustine Beach, according to an announcement from St Johns County Fire Rescue.
Firefighters reported taking the turtle to Beach Services; where it will be cared for, and, most likely, transferred to a turtle rehabilitation center before it is released.
