Chairman Lance Thate reported to Historic City News that Janet Smith will be the guest speaker for next week’s regular meeting of the Saint Augustine Tea Party where the topic for the evening will be the proposed “Second Amendment Preservation Act”.
A draft of the proposed law is already being circulated in 14 Florida counties; and fans are looking for support from St Johns County voters who want to tighten restrictions on Federal incursions into the right of citizens to bear firearms.
“Janet is a well-known re-enactor who has visited the local Saint Augustine Tea Party on several occasions in the past,” Thate told local news reporters. “Her presentation should be very enlightening to those interested in preserving our Second Amendment rights.”
The meeting is open to the public and the Tea Party welcomes members and guests to come early. Attendance at the meeting is free of charge; you can dine in a friendly atmosphere during the meeting at your own expense.
The meeting will convene at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday, October 8th at the Village Inn located at 900 North Ponce de Leon Boulevard in St Augustine.
“If you are interested in pushing back against the attacks on the Second Amendment, come and join us at our October 8th meeting,” Thate said. The object of this presentation is to recruit Second Amendment advocates to become involved with passing a bill in the next Florida legislative session.
