St Augustine police spokesman, Mark Samson, informed Historic City News local reporters that when the manager of the Absolute Americana Art Gallery arrived at work yesterday, they discovered considerable vandalism had been done to their building located at 77 Bridge Street.
According to the incident report, a significant amount of motor oil had been poured on the ground and slung onto the eastside wall of the building, as well as the main steps leading into the gallery.
“Blue paint had been splattered and dripped down the wall; about 15 to 20 above ground,” Samson told Historic City News. “The paint was still slightly damp to the touch upon the officer’s arrival.”
Video surveillance images taken at the scene show one person throwing the paint against the wall and, minutes later, pouring out the oil.
Absolute Americana and the St Augustine Police are asking anyone with information concerning this crime contact Northeast Florida Crime Stoppers at 1-888-227-8477 (TIPS). You can remain anonymous and be eligible for a reward of up to $1000.00.
