Shortly before 5:00 p.m. today, Historic City News learned that St Johns County Fire Rescue was enroute to the scene of a residential structure fire near SR-207 and I-95.
Smoke was observed coming from the garage, prompting a neighbor to call 9-1-1 about 4:40 p.m. St Johns County Fire Rescue spokesman Matthew Sara advised that the fire eventually spread to the remainder of the house on Meadowwood Lane near Cypress Links Boulevard.
The occupant of the home escaped without injuries, although, according to a message from St Johns County real estate professional, Beth Ruggeri, the whole house is gone.
“House is gone so fast, scary,” Ruggeri wrote at about 5:30 p.m.
When firefighters arrived, the house was engulfed in fire. The main part of the fire has been extinguished, and firefighters are looking for any remaining hot spots.
