After two prior workshops reported by Historic City News, the St Augustine city commission took an additional step during its regular meeting last week towards getting the city’s visioning initiative off the ground.
By consensus, the commission charged Commissioner Roxanne Horvath with chairing the initiative and its 12-member steering committee.
“Mayor Boles, Vice Mayor Sikes-Kline, and Commissioners Freeman and Crichlow, will each appoint three people to the steering committee to represent the city’s residential, business and institutional communities,” Public Affairs Director Paul Williamson told local reporters. “With the challenge of coordinating schedules during the upcoming holidays, it is not likely the steering committee will meet until soon after the first of the year.”
Those wishing additional information on the initiative, including agendas and minutes of the commission’s workshops on the topic, access to the city’s last visioning project in 1995, and a variety of related studies and strategic plans, should visit http://visionstaug.com
