St Augustine Streets and Grounds Manager, Charlene Putz, reported to Historic City News that beginning Monday, December 9th, and continuing through Friday, December 13th, the city will be resurfacing Avenida Menendez, from King Street south to St Francis Street.
The resurfacing is part of the final stages of work related to the seawall reconstruction and will begin each day at 7:00 a.m. and end by 5:00 p.m. All vehicles must be off the street by 7:00 a.m. each day in order for the work to remain on schedule.
Vehicles not removed will be towed at the owner’s expense.
Parking will be permitted after 5:00 p.m. each day, but all vehicles must be removed by 7:00 a.m. the following morning so that work can continue.
Vehicles will be redirected during construction as necessary with minimal street closures anticipated, but the public may wish to avoid the area to avoid delays. The public’s patience and cooperation is appreciated.
