Kris Phillips, president of Historic City News’ broadcast news partner, WFOY, announced this week that Kevin Fennessy has joined the station group as an Account Executive. Fennessy has previously worked in this radio market since 2011, providing sales and customer service.
Although Fennessy has made Florida his home since 2008, he is a native of Philadelphia — and, at one time, he owned a pair of radio stations in Pennsylvania. He is an established on-air personality and programmer, with credits in medium and large cities, including WFIL, Philadelphia, WHAM, Rochester and WKBW in Buffalo.
“I’m proud to be associated with these legendary call signs,” Fennessy told local Historic City News reporters this week. “WFOY and WAOC are truly St Johns County’s only hometown radio stations, and I am excited to be a member of this outstanding team.”
Fennessy is married to Rev. JoAnn A. Germershausen, Interim Pastor of The First
Presbyterian Church of Stuart; they have 4 children and 4 grandchildren. The family travels between St Augustine and Stuart to spend time together while they are working.
Kristine Phillips, President of Phillips Broadcasting LLC, welcomed Fennessy to WFOY and WAOC — the radio stations that have been based in St Augustine for over 76 years.
