Five arrests to date at drug dwelling in Southern Grove

Historic City News was informed that a residence in the Southern Grove subdivision, north of CR-210 in St Johns County, has been declared a “drug dwelling” after sheriff’s detectives returned this morning, for the second time this week, to execute a search warrant — today’s search netting three additional arrests.

Numerous complaints from neighbors led to a month-long investigation into suspicious activity at the home. Forty-year-old Katina Gail Coffey, who owns the home with her husband, Carlos, was arrested and charged with maintaining a drug dwelling.

Shortly after 6:30 a.m. this morning, the search warrant was served at 196 Southern Grove Drive, and the three occupants were questioned. Inside the home, detectives seized marijuana, numerous items of drug paraphernalia, along with controlled medication in their possession, without a prescription.

In addition to the homeowner, 19-year-old Stephanie Ann Foss, who resides at 1252 Creek Bend Road in St Johns, and the homeowner’s son, 20-year-old Stormy Shayne Coffey, were arrested on various drug-related charges. They all remain in custody at the St Johns County Detention Facility in the Neil J Perry Criminal Justice Complex. Bail was set Saturday morning at $5,750 for Stephanie Ann Foss and $3,500 for Stormy Shayne Coffey. During the arraignment, bail of $10,000 was set for Katina Gail Coffey.

Two others were arrested at the same residence earlier this week. First, 18-year-old Rachel Sara Fasanello, who resides at 3817 Bunnell Drive in Jacksonville, was arrested when detectives learned that there were outstanding warrants charging her with interfering with custody of a child, contributing to the delinquency of a minor, possession of drug paraphernalia, conducting an open house party, and violation of probation.

At the same time, 18-year-old Dustin Noah Coffey, the homeowner’s other son, was arrested and charged with possession of cocaine and possession of drug paraphernalia. Bond is set at $5,000 for Dustin Coffey, and Fasanello remains in custody without bond.
