Historic City News readers will be interested to attend tomorrow, Thursday, February 20, beginning at 2:00 p.m. when the St Augustine Historic Architectural Review Board convenes their regular business meeting in the Alcazar Room at City Hall, located at 75 King Street in St Augustine.
The public will have an opportunity to speak to general issues before the Board begins hearing business as well as an additional opportunity when individual action items come before the Board.
Seeking “Certificates of Appropriateness” Thursday will be:
a) F2013-0151 Colonial Quarter LLC – Applicant is applying for the owner, the Trustees of the Internal Improvement Trust Fund of the State of Florida. This request was continued for the property at 53 St. George Street to allow the installation of a canvas canopy over the front deck seating area of the De Burgo-Pellicer House.
b) F2014-0011 Ortega Services, LLC – Applicant is the owner, David and Catherine White –118 Avenida Menendez and 10 Marine Street to install brick pavers in the restaurant seating area and parking lot.
c) F2014-0012 UF Historic St. Augustine – is applying for the owner, the Trustees of the Internal Improvement Trust Fund of the State of Florida. 40 St. George Street to construct an addition to the public restroom facility and conduct site improvements including a deck and walkway.
d) F2014-0013 Marquis Halback, Inc. – is applying for the owner, Virtu Cathedral Associates, LLC. 24 Cathedral Place to conduct site improvements to the main entrance, rear loggia entrance, and property wall with landscaping, decorative signage, and lighting.
Seeking “Certificates of Demolition” Thursday will be:
a) F2013-0150 Limelight Theatre, Inc. – Owner and Applicant continued from December 20 Bernard Street to demolish a contributing building to the North City National Register Historic District that was constructed ca. 1894.
b) F2014-0002 Habitat for Humanity of St. Augustine/St. Johns – is applying for the owner, Herbert C. Simmons, Sr. – 14 Lovett Street to demolish a contributing building to the Lincolnville National Register Historic District that was constructed ca. 1917.
c) F2014-0008 TrueCraft, LLC – Applicant is applying for the owner, Wells Fargo – 318 Ribault Street to demolish a building that was constructed in 1950 and not located in a local or national historic district.
The City of St. Augustine will be seeking approvals:
a) F2013-0162 City of St. Augustine – Applicant and Owner Certificate of Appropriateness continued from January Public Market at Plaza de la Constitución to install a handrail on the east side of the Public Market.
b) F2014-0006 City of St. Augustine – Applicant and Owner Certificate of Relocation and Appropriateness WWII Memorial Monument at Plaza de la Constitución to relocate the 1946 World War II Memorial Monument from its current location in the northeast corner of the plaza approximately 30 feet west.
7. Appeal of a determination of the Design Standards for Entry Corridors
a) F2014-0005 St. Johns Law Group for 7-Eleven, Inc. – is applying for the owner, First City Development, LLC – 179 San Marco Avenue an appeal of the Architectural Review official determination that the Design Standards for Entry Corridors were not met for the development proposal.
