Sue Agresta, of Lift Up Lincolnville Revitalization Corp., shared plans with Historic City News to reopen the Lincolnville Farmers Market as of next month. The sponsoring citizen group closed the popular Sunday market last summer and is excited about a new opportunity for its return.
Residents and visitors of St Augustine, who have shopped The Wednesday Market sponsored by the Saint Augustine Beach Civic Association, held at the Saint Johns County Pier Park, may know Market Manager Nico Heather Recore. Agresta told local reporters that Nico has agreed to manage the Lincolnville Farmers Market when it reopens.
“With her proven track record, we trust that Nico will be able to build a bigger, better market for Lincolnville,” Agresta said. “We can’t wait to spend Sundays with all our friends, again.”
Recore began to oversee the day-to-day operation of The Wednesday Market in March of 2013, according to Market Committee Chairman, Paul Slava. She is responsible for screening vendor applications, insuring that all vendors are properly licensed, and, most importantly, working with vendors to insure The Wednesday Market has just the right mix of produce, arts, crafts, prepared foods, and a few extras.
The grand re-opening for The Lincolnville Farmers Market, located as it has been in past years, at Eddie Vickers Field on the south end of Riberia Street, it set for Sunday, March 30, from noon to 4:00 p.m.
