The St Johns County Public Library System is encouraging Historic City News readers to visit next week, between April 13-19; and, enjoy special events, friendly and helpful staff and the amazing resources we have to offer to the people of St Johns County.
In honor of National Library Week we will be reading stories about libraries and books.
This year’s theme for National Library Week is “Lives change @ your library.”
BCC Proclamation
The Board of County Commissioners will be highlighting the significant role the Library System plays in the quality of life of our citizens by making a special proclamation recognizing National Library Week in St Johns County. This will take place at 9am, Tuesday, April 15th.
National Library Week: Bedtime Storytime @ the Southeast Branch Library

Wear your PJs to this special session of our regular Wednesday storytime where we do storytime backwards. Arts and crafts come first and then we will wind down with some favorite stories. This is a family program that is suitable for all young children.

Little Free Libraries at the St Augustine Beach Pier

The Library System joins with the Junior Service League in presenting five Little Free Libraries to the public at a special event at the St Augustine Beach Pier. The festivities start at 6:30pm, with musical entertainment provided by members of The Wobbly Toms. These five little free libraries will be placed around the community to enhance the community experience through the exchange of books and the love of reading.
National Library Week: Kids & Tween Crafts Event at the Anastasia Island Branch Library

Come into the library to celebrate National Library Week with us by making some great crafts. You can hang out and grab some yummy Eric Carle-themed snacks and make your own butterflies, Eric Carle prints, and much more for free. Sponsored by the Friends of the Anastasia Island Branch Library.
National Library Week: Family Storytime @ the Southeast Branch Library

Join Miss Kristine and Miss Alex every Wednesday for a fun-filled hour of stories, songs, and crafts. This program is geared toward a wide range of ages, including families with toddlers, preschoolers, and elementary-aged children.
