As the call was dispatched, officers with the St. Augustine Beach Police Department and the St. Augustine Police Department provided assistance by establishing a perimeter in the area of the local business.
The female clerk reported that a man approached her at work and snatched a bag of money from her hands. She provided a description of the robber to police who initiated a search in a wooded area nearby. K-9 Ryker successfully tracked and apprehended the man identified by the clerk without incident. It was determined that the robber was armed with a gun.
Deputies arrested 19-year-old Aaron Jones, who resides at 1600 Railroad Street in St Augustine. He has been charged with armed robbery and remains in the St. Johns County Detention Facility, without bond, until his first appearance tomorrow morning.
No injuries were reported.
