Vicky Oakes, Supervisor of Elections for St Johns County, reported to local Historic City News reporters that the list of 40 polling places for the fall elections have been finalized and are posted on her website.
Voters in St Johns County are assigned to one of 46 precincts when they register; however, Oakes said that 12 of those precincts share a common polling place.
“Most St. Johns County voters will continue to vote at the same location they voted in 2012,” Oakes said. “Only two polling places used during the 2012 elections were not available this year.”
Precinct 506 was moved from the Prosperity Bank Community Center to the Days Inn Historic Downtown.
Precinct 110 was moved from Lifepoint Church (SR-13 at SR-16) to Heritage Landing Amenity Center and Precinct 204 will vote at Colee Cove Volunteer Fire Department.
Effected voters will receive a new voter card around August 1st. The Primary Election day will be August 26th and the General Election day will be November 4, 2014 — but Oakes reminds all voters that there will be plenty of opportunity to vote absentee, by mail, or by visiting any early voting location.
“Check our website for the updated polling place list and maps,” Oakes told reporters. “If you still have questions, call us at 904-823-2238.
