Controversial vision steering committee meets Tuesday
Historic City News was informed that Tuesday, June 17th, the City of St Augustine will hold a steering committee meeting to review a revised plan and fee schedule that City Public Affairs director, Paul Williamson, says will see the group, and the community, through the completion of the updated vision statement initiative launched earlier this year.
The fifteen hand-picked appointees, who have already paid $15,000 to Herb Marlowe, whose company, Analytica, has been retained as “facilitator” for the group that calls themselves “Visioning 2014 & Beyond”, were presented a bill for an additional $85,000 before last week’s city commission meeting.
The following day, the city reported that Marlowe had reduced his proposed fee by $25,000.
During Tuesday’s meeting, the committee will review a new timeline, work schedule and reduced fee schedule for the steering committee’s consideration. Then, based on that meeting, the committee will offer its recommended action to the Commission during its June 23rd meeting.
The meeting’s agenda and the proposed plan are available at www.VisionStAug.com.
The meeting, scheduled for one hour, begins at 4:00pm in the Alcazar Room, City Hall, 75 King Street in St Augustine. The meeting will be available for viewing live and on-demand at www.CoSATV.com.
