Tropical Storm Fay had barely departed our area before crews in the Public Works Department were on the streets of St. Augustine collecting debris left by the storms winds and rain.
Public Works crews, including, Parks, Transmission and Distribution and Solid Waste Divisions were on duty from throughout the weekend in an effort to clear the city of trash and debris as quickly as possible.
As of today, Monday, August 25, normal trash and recycling has returned to its regular schedule and efforts continue to pick-up all yard debris as soon as possible.
While it is expected that the city will be cleared of storm debris within the next few days, the bagged debris will be picked up on Wednesday, the city’s regular yard waste pickup day.
If your debris is not cleared by Thursday, call the Department of Public Works at 825-1040.
