Historic City News readers are advised that due to persistent northeast winds, elevated surf, and beach flooding associated with Hurricane Cristobal, St. Augustine Beach, Crescent Beach, and Butler Beach are temporarily closed to vehicular traffic.
The beaches remain open to pedestrian visitors, and Vilano Beach and Porpoise Point beaches are currently open to vehicular traffic.
St. Johns County offers a variety of ways in which to receive information about beach entry points, facilities, services, and vehicular access updates. Wireless device users may access the new Reach the Beach mobile website at www.sjcfl.us/beach.

iPhone and iPad owners can download the Reach the Beach application to access the mobile website directly from their application screen. In addition, visitors can call the Beach Conditions Hotline at 904.209.0331 to obtain updated vehicle access information.
Tide and surf conditions will be continually monitored by Historic City News and vehicular access will be restored by St Johns County once safe driving conditions resume.
