Photographs from the Hidden Lightner Hidden Exhibition – For the past two years, photographer Theresa Segal has explored the historic Lightner Museum’s restricted fourth floor: 44 small rooms that were the servants quarters of the Alcazar Hotel, but now make up “the best attic in the world,” says Segal. This new exhibition features a selection of 20 of her photographs that chronicle the museum’s hidden, stored collections. Photography Challenge Event – Photographers, from beginners to professionals, compete to take the best photo at three designated locations within Washington Oaks Gardens State Park. Castillo by Candlelight: Taking the Plunge – In honor of Hispanic Heritage Month, the Castillo de San Marcos National Monument hosts a special evening tour. The tour follows the 17th and 18th century adventures of a young man who takes the plunge and enlists in the Spanish military to serve at the Castillo to protect his hometown of St. Augustine. 2nd Annual St. Augustine Maritime Heritage Festival – Celebrate maritime history and a love of the sea at this two-day festival at the Fountain of Youth Archaeological Park. 8th Annual Sea Turtle Festival – Keepers of the Coast host the 7th Annual Sea Turtle Festival from noon to 5 p.m. at the St. Augustine Municipal Marina.
