CITY OF RESIDENCE: Ponte Vedra Beach

PREVIOUS ELECTED POSITIONS: Airport Authority Board Member 2000-08. Chairman for several of those years.

COMMUNITY SERVICE: St. Johns County Legal Aid, Habitat for Humanity, SCOPE program with the Florida Bar to mentor young lawyers, guest speaker for International Baccalaureate program at Nease High School and Biotech Academy at Ponte Vedra High School, Aerospace Academy Founding Board Member for St. Augustine High School.

QUALIFICATIONS FOR OFFICE: Previously served on the Airport Authority for eight years and elected as chairman, business owner with experience of running a business, lawyer versed in contract negotiations and experience with working for a government entity as an assistant state attorney in Duval County.

REASONS FOR RUNNING: The combination of my education, legal background, business experience, prior experience as chairman and a member of the Airport Authority, as well as my passion for aviation and public service, make me an excellent candidate to serve on the Airport Authority Board. Also, to continue the work I previously started of smart growth by keeping the airport off the ad valorem tax rolls, managing the airport as a business for the people of St. Johns County, as well as the corporate and private pilots.

GOALS FOR UPCOMING TERM IF ELECTED: I wish to see the airport continue to grow with and give back to our community. The airport’s significant economic contribution to St. Johns County makes the airport an asset that will require smart management for future development. I also wish to encourage the airport to be used as an avenue of inspiration and access for the youth of our community who have an interest in aviation.
