The Gainesville-based political consultants at Data Targeting asked the Florida Supreme Court to delay the release of emails and documents that could expose the role they played in drawing new congressional districts.
The state court plans to put the documents in the gerrymandering case online later this month.
In a motion, attorneys for the firm said that release should be delayed while they prepare a request for the case to be heard by the US Supreme Court.
Registered legislative lobbying firms reported earning a median figure of $31,525,000 during Q3 (July-September) of 2014.
Ballard Partners, Southern Strategy Group, Ron Book and Capital City Consulting all broke the million-dollar mark.
Among principals, or those that retain lobbyists, AT&T reported paying the most in Q3 at $345,000. Other top spenders include U.S. Sugar, Florida Crystals, Dosal Tobacco and the Florida Hospital Association.
