The Publix supermarket located at 800 Belle Terre Parkway in Palm Coast was the scene of an armed robbery that occurred at approximately 9:45 p.m. last night, according to a report received by Historic City News today.
The victim told detectives that an unidentified Hispanic male entered the store and approached the service counter. She said the man gave her a yellow plastic bag and told her to give him everything in the cash register. She believed the man was armed although she did not actually see a weapon.
A description was taken from witnesses at the store, as was surveillance video. All available images were made available to deputies investigating this crime.
The cashier said the robber was about 5’7” tall, 20-30 years of age, with a small frame. He was last seen wearing a tan Carhartt-style work jacket and a gray hoodie, blue jeans and black tennis shoes with a white stripe.
The robber took an undisclosed amount of cash then quickly left the store and is believed to have driven away in a gray or silver sedan.
