Old Town Trolley Tours, Mint Magazine, and WSOS Radio, announced to Historic City News the winners of the “Second Annual Light Up the Night Contest”, selected by a panel of government and hospitality industry leaders and the popular vote of guests who toured the city’s award-winning light displays aboard the Holly Jolly Trolley.
This year, record numbers of visitors and locals rode the Holly Jolly Trolley to experience the wonderland of millions of white lights sparkling throughout this charming old city.
“This contest helped to draw attention to the light displays and encouraged businesses to add to their lights and keep them lit longer,” said David Chatterton, General Manager of Old Town Trolley Tours of St. Augustine. “The light displays were highly praised and this year’s displays were the best ever!”
This year’s prize winners were:
1st place – Casablanca Inn
2nd place – Meehan’s Irish Pub
3rd place – Cedar House Inn
First prize winner receives:
- $1000 in cash
- Media Package worth $1750
- 1/2-page ad in Mint Magazine
- 100 WSOS Radio spots
Second prize winner receives:
- $750 in cash
- Media Package worth $1000
- 1/3-page ad in Mint Magazine
- WSOS Radio spots
Third prize winner receives
- $500 in cash
- Media Package worth $600
- 1/4-page ad in Mint Magazine
- 25 WSOS Radio spots
St. Augustine’s Nights of Lights has received a great deal of attention and accolades over recent years. Most notably, National Geographic named St. Augustine one of the ten best places in the world to see holiday lights.
