Historic City News was notified that, last week, inspectors temporarily shut down Kentucky Fried Chicken, located at 1805 US-1 South in St. Augustine, after they found live roaches in the kitchen.
An inspector with the Florida Department of Business & Professional Regulation’s Division of Hotels and Restaurants closed the restaurant March 30th because at least six live roaches were seen inside the wiring area of a microwave at the back of the kitchen.
At a callback the same day, the inspector saw a live roach and a dead one in the dining area behind a drink station.
When the inspector found no violations the next morning, the restaurant was allowed to reopen.
