In the ongoing battle reported by Historic City News between St Johns County and the US Veterans Affairs over relocation of the St Augustine Community Based Outpatient Clinic, Ponte Vedra Beach Congressman Ron DeSantis has scheduled Assistant County Administrator Jerry Cameron to give testimony before a congressional panel.
Elizabeth Dillon announced to local Historic City News reporters that Rep. DeSantis (FL-06), will convene a hearing tomorrow, June 25th, and entitled, “A Review of Veterans Affairs Major Lease Procurement”.
“Most major lease projects for replacement or construction of new VA medical facilities have experienced significant delays at excessive costs to taxpayers,” Dillon reported.
Witnesses announced to testify before the panel include:

Principal Executive Director of the Office of Acquisitions, Logistics, and Construction
U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs
Dr. Carolyn Clancy
Interim Undersecretary for Health
U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs
Mr. Dave Wise
Director of the Physical Infrastructure Team
U.S. Government Accountability Office
Mr. Jerry Cameron
Assistant County Administrator
St. Johns County, Florida
The hearing will be broadcast live from Room 2154 of the Rayburn House Office Building in Washington, D.C., on Thursday, June 25th beginning at 2:00 P.M.
“This hearing will examine the management of these projects and highlight specific incidents where lease procurement has been delayed, notably at the VA Community Based Outpatient Clinic in St. Augustine,” said DeSantis, who is Chairman of the Subcommittee on National Security.
