On September 1st, Historic City News readers learned that approximately $18,200.00 worth of rods and reels were reported stolen from a boat moored at the dock of Sebastian Harbor Villas.
Police Officer Jon Niederriter responded to original complaint and Sergeant Patrick McCaulley is asking for your help in locating the stolen property. The theft occurred sometime between July 5th and August 28th.
The rightful owner is offering a $500 reward to anyone that can provide information that leads to the return of his property and the arrest and conviction of the person responsible.
Property stolen from the boat included eight Penn gold reels with Penn Deep Sea Rods and Don Sailsbery Rods ($9,600), two Daiwa TLD series reels with custom D/S rods ($2300), three Daiwa Black and Gold series reels with D/S custom rods ($2,700), and one Daiwa MP3000 electric reel with a custom rod ($3,500).
All together, 21 sets of rods and reels were missing. Police were told by a private investigator representing the owner that there was a spare key that could have been used to unlock the cabinet where the property was stored.
